Good day. Â City Team. Â Here we are, a group of men who are working towards becoming more whole. Â I was unsure what to expect, but these guys were very warm and inviting. Â They were very open with what they are working on, and were more than happy to share, about whatever I asked. Â Serving the dinner to the people who came in was a very sobering, yet touching experience. Â
This was a very positive beginning, to what is hopefully a great partnership.

Brian and Terry had a adventurous and very unique wedding. Instead of renting a Limo, they opted for a little more different approach, and used the Italian Job method, and rented a mini fleet of Mini Coopers.

I love this one! It’s on a ramp up to the top of the building.

AZN style photo! Remember 1994 Integras, gangstas?

Onward to the Wente Vineyards in Livermore, so beautiful!

Terry looking gorgeous.

Looking smooth guys.

Some of the family spent an insane amount of time baking cupcakes for everyone in attendance, here are the boxes all lined up.

I’ve known Andre for about 8 years now! So when he was engaged in Costa Rica he asked if I would photograph his wedding! It was such a fun day, so much creativity going around from the groomsmen photos looking like the Godfather, to doing Austin Powers as the entry dance!

Austin Powers 1st dance, are you kidding!!!

I loved the negative space on this one.

My first attempts at macro ring shots.

Guess he’s having fun down there.

Paul Moi i think his name is, punked this kid! Stoke the garter, this is the 100% crop of that shot.

Good morning! Matt and Liza’s wedding took place at the Mill Rose Inn, in Half Moon Bay. Good people have good people for friends as well, so the entire day was filled with encouraging words, kindness, and an overall beauty.

These beaches had a very Cape Cod feel to them.

The downtown area was quaint and so nice!

Meet Caleb, but for whatever reason he was being called cable?
Thank you Matt and Liza for being so great! Best wishes with everything, and hope Croatia was amazing!

Good day amigos. Joanna and I are driving down to Los Angeles, cause I’m sick of airplanes, and figured a road trip would be good quality time, listening to amelie, and eating curly fries.
My cousin Scott was in town this week. He’s a little older than me and I’ve looked up to him in many ways my whole life. He helped me choose photography as a career way back when in Seattle. Well again he’s asked good questions while going on walks helping me focus myself and set new goals, as I met my 2008 ones fairly early in the year.
Being intentional about the use of my work and life seemed to be a re-occuring theme. I’d love to do more documentary work in the upcoming year. Fighting on the behalf of people that can’t or aren’t in a position to fight for themselves feels so right, and I find myself thinking why not, when working in those contexts. So there are many outlets for this, but first I’m going to start here in the city, and do a project with the homeless, and branch out from there. More on this as the details start to work themselves out.
In a wholly other topic, the New Yorker Magazine, did a story on genius, written by Malcolm Gladwell. The topic was studying those who did their best works at an early age, like Picasso, or those whose genius grew with time like Cezanne. I think there are a few genius caliber folks that I’ve known in my time. They have similar qualities, clear vision of where they want to go, and find ways of getting there.
Fellow San Francisco photographer Ben Chrisman seems to have such a clear vision and the energy to carry out such goals. People with such gifts have a common thread of doing work to a standard that is satisfactory to them. The mental strength and positive thinking of such individuals, Tiger Woods for example (thanks Bobby) believe so strongly that things will work out, that they are truly shocked when it doesn’t. This is to say that with extreme talent and drive there is very little that can’t be accomplished.
Ok, back to the road! Wonderful weekend awaits you!

I’m running a 1/2 marathon on November 2nd! I’ve been running a little bit, but figure might as well. Ha.
I saw W. the movie last night. It was a different than I thought, the story of W is actually quite interesting, and you almost feel sympathetic for the man, despite his decisions.
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Many posts to come, getting a lot done on the post-side.

What a fun wedding! Jenn and Brian got married in a sweet house in Atherton, CA. We were a tad worried about the weather, but it ended up working out perfectly! Jenn and Brian had such a great positive outlook the whole day, and because of it we were able to turn potential stessor points into our advantage. Unique weather and such can be an advantage, you just have to know how to work with it, instead of against it.
The groomsmen wanted a Sports theme, so we played a little football and baseball at Stanford. Eventually we were kindly asked to leave, but not until we got the coolest photos!
At the house was a Japanese themed tea house, so we were able to take some really sweet photos there too!
Hope you’re all well! Enjoy!

Hello hello. It’s been quite a week, so much has gone on, yesterday I was in San Diego with Molly and Bobby. It was a fun day in beautiful San Diego sunshine.

We were in the Balboa Museum of Art here, loving the unique architecture.

We had a great conversation about positive thinking, as Bobby is a sports psychologist. Â I think it applies to anything your doing. Â For example, Tiger Woods truly believes he’ll nail every shot, so he’s genuinely surprised when he misses. Â He uses all positive language, instead of don’t mess up negative language. Â We also talked about “flow states” or being in the zone. Â
Â
Overall a very fun afternoon, with oh so many great photos. Â Hope you’re all well!
